jvisualvm.exe looks great as a basic memory/thread/CPU monitor. It's basically like jconsole.exe. However, the profiling function seems broken. When I hit the "profile" button, it hangs with the "Connecting to the target VM..." dialog. I'm trying this on jEdit and NetBeans just to see the tool work before I run on my own apps. I'm running jdk 1.6.0_10 x64 + Windows Server 2008 x64.
