Fredric, I actually like the hovering toolbox thing on your site. I think it was very nicely done. The problem with right-click is that you have to *know* to right click and more importantly *know where* to right-click. That should only be used for "extra" functionality that a regular user doesn't need to access. Fundamental actions should be handled as buttons or links - or as a very nicely done hovering toolbox as you have done on your site. Great work.
I wouldn't worry too much about folks having to "learn" this new metaphor, because it is really quite simple and easy to figure out. It just works. - Joe On Nov 20, 4:59 am, Frederic Simon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I had a very strange UI adventure lately and we just released (so > sorry for the shameless plug :). > I needed to find a solution for lists, selection and contextual menus > in the Web UI of Artifactory and I got very confused. > The way we do it today is totally incoherent... > I wrote a blog entry about it:http://tinyurl.com/69w63j > Am I wrong? > Right click is cool? > > You can check the crazy "hovering toolbox" we did here:http://repo.jfrog.org/ > Sorry, it's another Maven related stuff :) > BTW: Maven does the beginning of the answer for the library library ! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
