It's a great time and would highly recommend it. Getting there is pretty easy. <insert your home town here> ->Denver->Gunnison.
You can either rent a car in Gunnison or take a van to Crested Butte. I would recommend the van myself as you don't need a car once you're in Crested Butte. There are lots of options for accomodations. Two years ago I stayed at Cristiana Guesthaus which was fine. Last year I rented a house with three other posseites and will likely do the same again this year.
