I was thinking on how I would use Scala *right now* at work, in less to more intrusive order: 1) Use Scala and ScalaCheck to create better unit tests for java code (nobody needs to know I'm using Scala) 2) Create service modules and export them as jar libraries (just import a couple of jars in the project) 3) Define "internal DSLs" in Scala so others can "program" in Scala without running into the "warts" (yes, they need a full Scala IDE, but they can play in the "safe zone") 4) Convince the good developers to use Scala and ditch the others (Scala or not, they're wrecking havoc in the Java code anyway) ;-)
