Hi! Happy new year everybody :) I'm catching up my podcast listening after a little holiday break.
I was surprised that there was no mention of Android in the poll about the biggest Java story in 2008. * It was a new OS for mobile phones * backed up by Google and other major players in the industry * apps are developed in Java! * using an Eclipse-based SDK * a great (iPhone users may disagree;) device was out and more will be out soon. I don't know, to me this was HUGE and I think this will touch way more users (and probably more developers) than JavaFX, or closures will - this is only my opinion and I could be wrong of course! Plus if I'm not mistaken, Dick was involved with Android at his previous job so that could generate interesting discussions :) Voilà :) As always, great show.
