I guess if you do "enterprisey" stuff, then it is business as usual. But enterprisey means ever increasing complexity, and backward compatibility forever -and thus the death of any language. So if you want to work at internet speed -then you might well see this as the final capture of java by the enterprise and just another step in the slow death of java -ashes to ashes.
