PL/SQL is an odd mix of emotions for me. For one, it has elements of Pascal which, as the first "real" language I learned (after self taught BASIC), taught me the principles of software development and has a special place in my heart. Then you mix in relational database stuff and it starts getting weird. Finally it is the only language I have seen that makes more of a mess out of dates than even Java does....
