Wow.  There' no value in premises that make you think.  Classic.
Perhaps you think that's twisting your words, but that's what jumps out at
me.
My "gut reaction" if you will (and I know you will).

 I think we've read a number of people on the list here over the months
who've expressed negativity towards JavaFX, and it's often without having
actually used it, only read about it or seen a demo.  I'd call that a
negative gut reaction - perhaps you'd disagree on that.

And why limit yourself to *just* the actual language?  I didn't think that
was what was being discussed, but JavaFX as a whole.  That's what I
have the gut reaction to, and I've explained, in this thread and others,
what some of my issues were.  The *language* may be hunky dory,
but it's the totality of the experience thus far that makes me question
its ultimate fate/success.

I've started some of those discussions myself.  I was pretty sure I said I
wasn't going to delve in to that one here for this thread because it was
a topic for another day (thought those may not have been my exact words).
