Hi all, I'm an Australian Java developer, I've been interested in French language and culture for a few years, and taught myself (with help from a few francophones I knew) to read/write & speak french conversationally (sub-fluent).
Anyway, I'm going to France on an extended holiday shortly, over July-August, just a tourist visa nothing amazing. What I was wondering is if there are any developers working in France who might have some pointers for me on starting negotiations with recruitment agencies or employers while I'm over there? Getting a working visa (for an Australian) in the EU without heritage is a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem, so I'm looking at throwing my resume around while I'm over there in hopes of starting a dialogue with an employer who would be willing to sponsor me to come over. I'd cover relocation costs and getting there, I'm just looking for the opportunity to be able to live in France writing Java! I'm not fussed about location, but obviously the main hubs are the major cities, Paris, Lyon, Touloise, Marseille etc, anywhere really is fine. Obviously in the middle of global economic freefall is not a good time for this but can't really be helped... :-) Anyone have any ideas? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
