There seemed to be a lot of confusion about the Aye and Nay question system. It is a Yes or No question... as such, you can't say :
"How many people like Chicken?... <ayes> How many people like ice cream?...<ayes?nays?>" You would have to introduce that as a Yay and Yay question. Similarly - to make choosing a victor, you can't have aying and naying simultaneously - because it is not possible to compare the groups. Further more, the system fails if people don't maintain the same volume - regardless of how much they love ice cream. They would have to express that with intonation, and anything from chirpy-optimism to cynical-irony and all the subtle shades in between - at the same volume. May I hear the Ayes for chicken?? <aye> And the Nays? <nay> Ok. 5pm I can go home now.
