Very interesting stuff. Two things really struck me:

1. Cay Horstmann agrees with me that scala bites your head off; minor
types result not in syntax errors but in a different interpretation.
I've mentioned this before and got some fairly heated commentary from
scala afficionados, so why aren't they up in arms about Cay's comment?
Possibly because Cay finishes that part of the interview with an
insinuation that Scala may in the future be able to fix this.

2. Cay suggests that even just the property support in Scala is
already a big help. Heh. This and other remarks indicates to me he -
really- wants to have a look at my hobby project. We're just writing
an installer of sorts and putting a simple website together and then I
can tell you guys (and Cay?) more about it.
