Well no matter how you cut it, the amount of stuff that has been
dropped is staggering and a prospect of JDK8 in another 3-4 years is
just disappointing to the practitioner. It's not scientific study, but
only some 20% appear to be genuinely happy with how JDK7 is shaping
up: http://www.java.net/poll/what-your-reaction-jdk-7-feature-list

Also, it's a little bit ironic and not exactly a sign of health, that
the current javac maintainer is now innovating on a competitive
platform.
