I guess I must be missing a use case here, as far as I can tell the number is prominent on both:
http://javaposse.com/ Certainly the posts there have the episode number at the start of the title heading. As for the mp3 files - I don't know how you are downloading them, but if you grab them from the site or the RSS feed you should see the naming convention is: JavaPosse283.mp3 the 283 is the episode number. The RSS feed has the episode number for each entry too: http://feeds.feedburner.com/javaposse and finally, the episode number is always in the ID3 tags for the podcast, and it's recorded at the beginning of the show in audio. If I might inquire - how are you getting the podcast delivered, if you are not getting any of these episode numbers? Is anyone else having this problem?
