Well, I can't believe it, Rega is still in business and sells a variety of audio products - including turntables!
They still carry a model that is a descendant of my Rega Planar 3: http://www.rega.co.uk/html/p3.htm "The inspiration for the design of the P3 - 24 did not come from an evolution of the last P3 2000 model. Rather it came from re-visiting the virtues of the original planar 3 turntable." Price: £395.00 at this site: http://www.rega-synergyav.co.uk/acatalog/Rega_P3.html And here's the old Planar 3 itself (mine is black): http://www.vinylengine.com/library/rega/planar-3.shtml Also there are plenty of parts items on ebay such as replacement belts. At first I was concerned that perhaps I should digitize my albums so as to limit the wear on the turntable and cartridge stylus. But given vinyl has made such a comeback I think I'll just sit back and enjoy playing albums, sip an adult beverage, and enjoy the album covers with the lyrics. It's just such a superior experience compared to the iTunes/ipod style of music consumption. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
