Dear Joe and Carl. I believe you have a far too altruistic view of Apple. Apple does everything based on business decisions, which is the mantra of Joe. (business, business, business)
Apple have already all the necessary tools to ban all apps that are ugly, powerhungry and in any other way not suitable for the iPhone. This last move can not be anything else than what Dick and Tor expressly mentioned several times. It's a move to force developers into making iPhone only apps. Android has become a serious contender, but too many companies have invested too much time and money into iPhone to "give it up" freely, and Apple is trying to force those developer to develop for the iPhone as their main platform. The argument regarding bad code and powerhungry applications is just hot air. A good cross compiler spits out better and faster code than what "average Joe" (not Joe Nuxoll) writes. The "average Joes" are probably much better off using a cross compiler and other toolkits to help them avoid writing all the nitty-gritty-details. I have a hard time taking Joe and Carl seriously in this issue, since their view clearly is colored by feelings for the company in question. As long as we're not discussing Apple-products, I hold you in the highes regard! :) Keep up the good work, love the Posse! :) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
