I have an iPad I mainly use it to read emails, watch podcasts that I download from iTunes (news), get stock quotes and read books (there's is an app calls good reader that let you to download PDF from pretty much anywhere and read it on your iPad). I also let my 4 years son to play educational games which he loves to do.
Content creation sucks mainly because apple's refusal to add USB port. So you cannot export your creation easily from iPad to other device such as your desktop pc. I actually wish I could use it for video conferencing unfortunately it does not have front facing camera. Finally, not that I have ever seen any one read on beach ... But this screen is actually very readable under direct sunshine. I have a 4 years old so this is actually a perfect device for me since I don't have unlimited access to my electronics anymore (tv, computer). I understand it's probably not for everyone. No flamewar please, just want to give an example of how this device been used.
