I just think Steve read a bit too much Arthur C. Clarke and now lives
by "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from
magic". And these days it's hard to disguise a desktop or laptop
computer as "magical". If you notice, the Mac vs. PC commercials are
also gone - although a lot of employees choose to end their employment
with Apple these days, so who knows.

Gnome 3.0 will be pretty sweet though, and KDE 4.5 already is. For
pure eye-candy, I also haven't seen anything on Windows nor Mac that
rivals Compiz.
