I agree. I think one of the keys to the longevity and success of the Java Posse has been that it is just a group of guys hanging out and talking about technology that interests them (which has been mostly centered around Java for the better part of the podcast). I'd rather deal with the various iPhone discussions than have no podcast at all :)
However, I was a little surprised by the comment Joe made along the lines of there being tons more interesting announcement from WWDC. For someone like myself not fortunate enough to actually go to WWDC, it doesn't really seem like there is that much to discuss about it. All of the content, save for the keynotes (which seem pretty consumer- oriented), are under NDA. I spent a fair amount of time this week trying to find out what was new in Xcode 4 and came up relatively empty-handed. Likewise, any deep discussion around iOS 4 isn't really possible since any of the related sessions and the OS itself (apart from high-level features announced in the keynote) are under NDA. Sorry, but I have a hard time getting excited over hearing about or discussing a developer conference that is protected by a wall of NDAs. I fully understand Apple's obsession with protecting the details of consumer-related product launches, but I've never been able to fathom why they keep so much of the developer-oriented stuff so tightly guarded. - Spencer On Jun 11, 9:31 pm, Brian Leathem <[email protected]> wrote: > I'm happy for them to keep talking about whatever interests them, as > long as they keep putting out podcasts.
