Even my company has been hurt by the changes Apple has made. We make revenue through advertising and the changes have caused a lot of companies and developers to loose their revenue stream. We are not abandoning the iPhone, but we are evaluating things closely to see if we are going to make money there. The story on Android is very different and I see revenues growing there for almost everyone. Many people are going to use Android as their main Internet device, especially younger people. Apple got the ball rolling, but now they seem to be dismantling the very thing they have built. Stopping companies from being able to advertise robs them of a primary source of income. It is very difficult to have enough revenue on sales alone. Only so many people are willing to pay for software now-a-days so you need advertising to be able to support development, improvement, and maintenance.
