Hi guys.

With the latest release of my Android app I've done the final
implementation of my limited analytics stuff for detecting users. In
the end I preferred the least possible invasive approach and I've just
added a new service that downloads my RSS feed; when it connects to
the feed URL, it also passes a few parameters with the version of
Android, smartphone, etc.

It is working. While I was thinking about the fastest way to parse the
Tomcat logs for aggregating the data, I started thinking whether it
was possible to use Google Analytics for that. There are two points:

1. having the thing working without Javascript. Googling around I've
found a number of documents about this, but most are broken links or
incomplete... Any pointer?
2. is it possible with GA to create custom metrics based on URL
parameters?

Thanks.
