I am not sure if Hibernate would responsible for the slow motion.. There are many possibilities including database issues,bad coding,ui issues. Still, are we concluding that hibernate will give slower results compared to other components? I would caution against that generalisation..
In any case,xml parsing is slow so maybe one of the issues here against hibernate...
