As I've mentioned before, you can ask for, and be granted, software
patents in europe, but the law doesn't actually include a way to sue
them. Yes, this is a weird situation, but the plan to fill in that
particular blank has been thwarted for about a decade now with
constant campaigning in brussels by lots and lots of small business
owners and freelancers living all around europe.
