I think regardless of who provides the JVM on the Mac, even if we have
to build and bundle it ourselves, the real concern here is the
possibility of it  being "banned" from a platform as it seems to be
initially indicated in the App Store Review Guidelines mentioned at
the top of this thread.

Let's just hope that just as there was a change of heart on third
party tools for IOS, that we will see Apple do the same and allow JVM
based apps. Yes we didn't have a store before, but why wouldn't
developers look forward to deploying Java apps on such a store?
