Oh I recall comments like "seriously, I hope it goes away and dies",
but I don't think it's beneficial to dig deeper into that - prefer to
hope for more openness and healthy pollination in the future. If you
go back in time, you'll notice this is not the same posse gang as just
3-4 years ago (Joe doing no development, Dick doing Scala, Tor now on
bastard Java Android etc.).

I understand the argument that .NET is not multi-platform quite the
same way as the JRE is, yet arguable C# is a more free standard than
Java and the Mac crowd likely has to get used to a community JRE in
much the same way as they have always had to rely on a community CLR
(Mono).
