I can recommend posterous https://posterous.com/
- it both hosts your blog - but can post to blogspot, wordpress and more - all you do is send an email to [email protected] and then it routes it where it has to be. Its good for quick thoughts etc (heck even with gmail you get a good editing expeirence regardless of where blog is hosted) - pictures/media as attachments all taken care of. Its just really quick.
