Preference and intolerance are two vastly different things.  :)

And, I should add, I had meant to push the other boundary in saying
there is no genetic influence.  I believe there most certainly is, but
I would bet the influence of the sex is far far far outweighed by
other genetic influences.

I fully cede this.  I can modify my statement to say that I would
expect it is false as often as it is actually true.  Simply put,
simplified models are often helpful to begin, but fall well short of
fully explaining a situation.
