That's kind of what Google did. It's called Android. They got sued for patent infringement, and so would you ;-) No, I think we need to look at something old rather than something new. A platform that can't be threatened by patents because it consists entirely of prior art. Tech that was invented before the JVM was but a twinkle in Joy and Gosling's eyes.
