I guess your memory isn't what it used to be. European action held back the 
Oracle <-> Sun deal for many many months.

If the EU wants to screw over american companies, they do it. We can start a 
new thread that'll no doubt go well into the triple digit post count on 
whether the EU was justified in holding back that deal, or if they would be 
justified in basically blocking google from doing business in the EU until 
they address this issue.

That would be opinions. But what you should NOT be arguing, is that google 
can flaunt the EU's will on this topic. Because, that's established by fact: 
They cannot, without taking billions of dollars of damages.

The EU can't block the internet without insane backlash, but they can 
prevent google from for example selling google apps or adwords in the EU.
