I own a Kindle and have been fairly happy with it. I knew what it was and what it would do before I bought it and so accept it for what it is.
The Kindle (wifi only) retails in the UK for £111. I got a news-shot email from my local computer supplier showing a 7" Android tablet for about £140. Considering how much more capable this Android tablet is than the Kindle it makes the Kindle look pretty expensive for what it is. I was surprised perhaps because I knew tablets were coming but wasn't really expecting the price to be that low (perhaps given the iPads and even historically the older tablet computers tended to be in laptop price territory). Do you think these new Android tablets will force Amazon to cut the price of the Kindle? Is there anything about the Kindle which justifies the price relative to an Android tablet? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
