I was out walking with the family and geocaching (http:// www.geocaching.com), this weekend. The second cache was a "multi- cache", where you go to the designated location and answer a clue that enables you find the actual location of the cache. The actual cache was located at the following co-ordinates "n 51 20.406 w 1 0.505" (a public bridleway that crosses the Duke of Wellington (of Battle of Waterloo fame) estates.
That's fine with hindsight. Look up these co-ordinates using Google Maps, afterwards at home, on your PC and it will unhelpfully centre on the nearby Green Lane. It's only when you zoom out that you will see an arrow pointing to the correct location. Unfortunately, in the field, the situation is worse. Using the Google Maps app on Android; there's the pointer to Green Lane (about half a mile away) but nothing to indicate the requested co-ordinates on the map. :( I just thought that I'd share that gripe with you all before I go off treking again. Luckily, it's only a ten minute cycle away. Vince. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
