Rats: Engadget just reported that the 2 million Galaxy Tabs sold are not end user sales, but sales into the distribution channel, and quotes Samsung from their earnings call "that so-called 'sell-out' sales to customers were actually 'quite small,'" and "'sell-out wasn't as fast as we expected,'". Mentioning sales to distributors instead of end user purchases is typically done when the end user sales are not impressive (see Windows Mobile 7 sales, also at 2 million to distributors). So the iPad probably has more than 77% tablet market share. But that doesn't mean that Android will further eat into the iPad market share this year. http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/31/samsung-says-galaxy-tab-sales-to-consumers-actually-quite-small/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
