I suppose I am one of those folks who uses both. At work, we have been experimenting with mercurial as a source control replacement for about 9 months now (we're currently on SCCS). The main benefits we've seen are related to centralized repository management. We began recently using RhodeCode to manage repository access and has almost sealed the deal (it's essentially GitHub, but you host it). On the other hand, I use git a lot for personal projects and open source that I am working with. Git is a lot more powerful, but is equally more difficult to pick up on.
