Well let's see how this will play out. It seems likely that Google will want to limit this aspect, the way to do that is to provide a compelling UI - Honeycomb seems to be such an UI. Some experimentation from vendors is Ok, that's what makes Android different than the alternative. Would we rather have everything dictated, or live in an ecosystem where things gets tested, adopted and potentially passed on to the next generation?
