I appreciate that this is the Java posse but I am very surprised that I haven't seen any comments about the launch of the new iPad 2.
I wonder if it has set a new bar for keynote MPM (Magical's per minute). Steve did say, some have criticised us for using the word "Magical" at which point it would have been great if he had turned around and said "Dick Wall of the Java Posse I am looking at you". There was some stories from individuals. The one where the Woman started saying "I define a miracle as being". I felt just a tad uncomfortable with any piece of electronics being hailed as a miracle but I may be being oversensitive about it. I think all in all it seems a solid product (for bad or good depending if it gets meaningful competition). The issue of graphics being 9x more powerful is interesting. If the argument was that the iPad could not support retina display because it would take too much graphics power to push that many pixels then with a 9x increase in graphics power could it have coped with higher res? I think it could probably have coped with 1080p but I suppose that depends on what "Up to 9x faster" means i.e. is the 9x is one very narrow category of operations. I think Android tablets are going to really have to work hard to compete with this device. I also think probably as a safe bet the new A5 processor will probably be in the iPhone 5 or at lest the high end ones. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
