The last podcast “Java Posse #351 - Roundup '11 - The Future of
Software” is the best podcast so far: diverse, interesting and
challenging content. It shows that our field has more to offer than
the eternal fights over programmings languages, platforms, latest buzz
words and software patents. These are a part of our trade, but it
should not be confound with it as a whole.

A lot of interesting stuff is going on in computer science and in the
application area. I think, it could improve the podcast by injecting
some of this content from time to time. Some of the areas mentioned
were: neural networks, evolutionary algorithms, human computer
interaction, optimizing compilers and quantum computing. This stuff is
fascinating and hard to keep up with.

It could ignite some curiosity having some of this content in the
show. I won’t read medical publications but the Radio Lab’s
presentation is so accessible, high-quality and entertaining that I
enjoy listening to every episode. (If you don’t listen to Radio Lab
you should try the Emergence episode.) In the same way the Java Posse
makes the Java news entertaining but I think the topics could be a bit
more diverse.

What do you think, should the Java Posse podcast change in any way?
