But comparing things such as GWT vs jQuery don't make any sense. There are people who just don't want to work with JavaScript. For instance, me and my customers. This week I'm doing an exercise together with some employees at my customers for creating a prototype of a web application. We're going very quickly and we're using Vaadin (which uses GWT's JavaScript components, not postcompiled but generated on the fly). It perfectly works. jQuery would not be an option in this context.
