Can Android be Microsoft’s next $1 billion business?

It's ironic that Microsoft has beat Oracle to the punch so far as
finding a way to get a cut of the Android action. (It would be a
further irony that if after passage of five years Microsoft earns more
revenue from Android than Windows Phone 7.)

But if Oracle does end up with any success per its lawsuit against
Google, Android OEMs could find themselves getting "paper cuts" from
multiple license fees that have to be dolled out. That could end up
shaving some luster off of the Android platform.
