I don't mind the random chat as long as it is at the end and is about
interesting technology innovation topics.
To be considerate to the busy people who want just Java, insert a remark
when you are done with the serious stuff and are about to begin the random
stuff. Something like:
"James Gosling, you can stop listening now."
or
"Done with stuff, on with fluff."
