I don't know, I bought an abacus for my one-year-old and she just uses it as a rattle.
She can move on to calculators when she stops smashing things against the ground. I'm not teaching her how exponents work, she's not ready for that kind of power. -----Original Message----- From: "[email protected]" [email protected] Sender: [email protected] Date: Thu, 22 Dec 2011 13:10:21 To: [email protected]<[email protected]> Reply-To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [The Java Posse] JavasScript as a first language "I'll just run off now to teach my kids how this abacus works. We'll be progressing to calculators next month :)" they'll certainly learn a lot more from the abacus than they ever will from the calculator! Don't forget the slide rule... (very useful if you're planning on teaching them about how exponents work) ----- Reply message ----- From: "Kevin Wright" <[email protected]> Date: Thu, Dec 22, 2011 5:01 am Subject: [The Java Posse] JavasScript as a first language To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
