Discovery does not seem difficult (to me), but I always keep questioning if
I am missing something vs how robust a framework/library is.

I guess it would be great to see 'social network' for all the libraries
that we are using. Perhaps something that looked similar to
http://java-source.net/ but showed usage of a project based on maven
dependencies.

Another site that has been trying  to do this for longer (with arguably
less success) is http://www.ohloh.net/
