However, when you do need it, you probably don't want to wait around figuring out how it's said... :)

For french I'm having a bad time in understanding the various exceptions for which a trailing "s" must be pronounced (admittedly, I'm trying to learn it more by practice than by reading grammar books, and probably part of the problem is the fact that I'm mostly in Provence where I suppose there are strong dialectal differences - the same happens in different parts of Italy). I think I can give up with understanding how "ours" (bear) must be pronounced.
