Don't abandon Cobertura for this! While you're waiting for their update of 
library for the new JDK 7 bytecode, this option should 
suffice:-XX:-UseSplitVerifierSee:http://weblogs.java.net/blog/fabriziogiudici/archive/2012/05/07/understanding-subtle-new-behaviours-jdk-7
