Experience with JSF 1.x is not a good basis for judging JSF 2.0. They are just too different. Waiting for other people's success stories isn't a good strategy either. When was the last time you heard a Java success story? In fact, I'd go so far as to say the qualities of a software development language as a language are not a basis for choosing to use it.
