I am not sure I understand this angle.  Assuming you are sending emails to
someone in gmail, I would think the publicly exposed metadata is fairly
minimal.  That you are sending someone to one of the larger email providers
out there.  Right?  Or is more of the data public in transit?

Or are you saying they would just get a court order to obtain the
email/metadata?
