Netbeans is very CPU-eating, the first thing to do is to reduce the
number of plugins loaded.
Go into Tools, plugins, then deactivate any plugin you don't need at
the very moment. You may reactivate them when needed.
Try to not open a number of other applications at the same time.

depending on your system:
