It will be an interesting journey with absolutely no prior knowledge. You may want to start with a very simple Java intro book, or course before attacking this. If you like a challenge then just start at lesson 1 and muscle your way through it. I would advise you to find a couple of good Java reference sites and/or books to have handy. Sang tends to skim over some areas that you may find additional resources to be needed. I have a lot of non-Java programming experience and was pretty baffled by some of the new principles and terminology. I just posted a reference to a site: Java Tech that goes into java principles in a bit more depth. This forum can also be helpful but I would not use it as my primary reference.
