I have just received a Java Update from SunMicro; so I thought I would have
to reset my CLASSPATH; but when I check on the Java folder, it still says
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_07.

Back in July when I started the course and installed NetBeans, NetBeans has
created the CLASSPATH variable in the System Variables pointing to QTJAVA
zip file as C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\lib\ext\QTJava.zip; NetBeans
also created a QTJAVA variable within the System Variables as "C:\Program
Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\lib\ext\QTJava.zip" ( with the quotes).

Since everything has been working fine, I didn't bother trying to find out
what QTJavaZip is there for; now when I check the Java folder, I notice
there is a jre1.6.07, and jre6, but neither of them has the QTJava.zip
folder.

Can someone please enlighten me on the use of the jre folder, and in
particular the QTJAVA.zip? Is the QTJAVA variable in the System variable
redundant?

Also I notice in the group posting that the current jdk is jdk1.6.0_10,
after I get an update from SunMicro, my jdk folder still says jdk1.6.0_07,
am I using the latest jdk?

I have setup a PATH variable under User variables as C:\Program
Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_07\bin, and I didn't add the jdk path to the PATH
variable inside the System variables; I never had any problems compiling or
running the Java projects using NetBeans or doing the command line exercise.

Thanks

norman
