Hello Ben,
I'm not familiar with Windows system, but I think that winrar is
probably not able to unzip gzip files zipped with recent version of
gzip.
See the gzip.org home page, maybe you will find a way to uncompress
it, and if you so and don't mind, please report here how you do it,
this way I will incorporate it some where in the discussion group home
page.
