In any case, yes you could use DBus to message pass data between two discrete processes. There is a limit, so if you're passing large amounts of data, you probably don't want to use DBus for that. I don't recall, but I think the limit is 128MB or something like that. So pictures and other large data would not work. In which case, as an old school guy, I'd use regular sockets or some other IPC mechanism. Where are you looking for your DBus information?
