Java applets are not stylable. One can't control it using z-index. However,
JavaScript can interact with these applets.

In Internet Explorer, the PWC cover entirely the applets. This is the good
behavior.

In Firefox, only the td.body part stay on top, the rest of the PWC hides
itself behind hte applet.

However, in both IE and Firefox, or CSS drop-down menu is always hidden
behind the applets. I'm not using Prototype nor PWC for this menu, though.

I'm looking for a JavaScript solution.

 FYI (developer at JavaWindow)

Applets basically works the same way as select boxes, I think there's
select boxes, object elements and iframes that have "identically" logic
regarding the z-index (or lack of such)

Hi!

We are programming a web app where some screen are showing small Java
applets. When floating a PWC in modal mode over the applet, some part of the
window gets hidden under the applet. The only thing that stays afloat is the
body part of the PWC. I'm not using the URL, so it's not an iFrame.

Is there anything I can do to make everything stay afloat on top of Java
applet? Do I miss something?

Regards,

- J
